Matt Cain's bid for perfection was nearly halted in the seventh inning when Astros center fielder Jordan Schafer launched a pitch deep into the gap in right-center field at AT&T Park. But San Francisco's right fielder Gregor Matt Cain threw a perfect game Wednesday night, the first one in the 128-year history of the Giants franchise.
