Te'o's decision proves divine

When I came back to school in August, ready to start my senior year, I had two requests at work. The first was that I write a column on being a senior in the student section. The second was that I get to write the senior feature onSOUTH BEND, Ind. — Amid the fury of the game, the roaring crowd and thudding hits, the clatter of shoulder pads, Manti Te'o searches for a quiet moment. Stepping away from his teammates, he closes his eyes and takes a deep breath, says a quick prayer. For one, it's rare to see a defensive player make such an impact like Te'o. Only Charles Woodson of the Michigan Wolverines has taken home the Heisman Trophy as a primary defensive player, yet he did have an impact on offense and special teams as well. With only one more chance for other players to prove themselves as Heisman contenders, Texas A&M Aggies quarterback Johnny Manziel and Notre Dame Fighting Irish linebacker Manti Te'o are the unquestioned favorites for the Heisman Trophy award inSOUTH BEND, Ind. — Amid the fury of the game, the roaring crowd and thudding hits, the clatter of shoulder pads, Manti Te'o searches for a quiet moment. Stepping away from his teammates, he closes his eyes and takes a deep breath, says a quick prayer.
