Miguel Calero dead at 41; famed goalie for Mexican soccer club Pachuca

MEXICO CITY (AP) — Miguel Calero, the former Colombia goalkeeper who played for more than a decade for with Mexican club Pachuca, has died of complications following a stroke. He was 41. Pachuca said in a statement that Calero died Tuesday in aAs Dynamo fans, I'm sure we are all familiar with Miguel Calero. He terrorized us in one of the best rivalries we have ever had. Heck, I'd argue that the Dynamo-Pachuca rivalry is still our best ever. We haven't faced each other since 2010, but I'mCF Pachuca has announced that former goalkeeper Miguel Calero has been pronounced clinically brain dead in a Mexico City hospital today. The former Colombian national team goalkeeper was admitted to the hospital last week after suffering from aHeartbreaking. Was fortunate to call a few Pachuca games and Calero was by far my favorite keeper in Mexico. Just an absolute beast in.Sad news, especially for soccer fans worldwide. Colombian goalkeeper Miguel Calero passed away. He was declared brain dead yesterday but sadly he could not put up a fight any longer. May he rest in peace.
