The Houston Fire Department said 14 firefighters were taken to the hospital Friday. One remained in critical condition on Saturday and another was undergoing surgery. The rest were in stable condition and several have been released from the hospital.

Friday may have been the deadliest day in the history of the Houston Fire Department, officials said, with four firefighters killed while battling a five-alarm blaze in a large motel.

Houston remembers four firefighters killed on Friday. They ranged in ages from 24 to 41.
