Delays, Frustration Persist More Than 24 Hours After LIRR Derailment

A Long Island Rail Road train derailed inside a tunnel Monday evening, causing frustrasting delays and cancellations for commuters at Penn Station at the height of rush hour.

Long Island Rail Road riders have to contend with rush-hour train cancellations and diversions because of Monday night's derailment, transit officials said. The LIRR will operate a normal mid-day schedule Tuesday but won't be able to run the regular
