R&A will look at gender issue after British Open

Round 1 of the 2013 Open Championship is underway with Miguel Ángel Jiménez out of the gates quickly at Muirfield.

Memories of the British open conjure up visions of gale force winds, with horizontal rain or mist and very cold temperatures. That is not the case for the 2013 British Open.

A Spanish duo gets hot early at Muirfield to set the pace on Thursday.

There will be more than 14 hours of golf at Muirfield on Thursday, and ESPN will provide an online stream for nearly all of it.

The two most decorated American golfers of this generation are the heavy favorites as the 2013 Open Championship begins in Scotland.
