Chicago Marathon 2012: Why Tsegaye Kebede's Record Time Is Great for Sport

Chicago may have lost the bid to host the 2016 Olympic Games, but it continues to attract world events, many of which take place at the same time. Chicago recently hosted the Ryder Cup, Chicago Marathon, Graph Expo Show and a football game at SoldierThe 2012 Chicago Marathon, celebrating its 35th anniversary, featured 45,000 athletes who all deserve recognition for attempting such a daunting undertaking, regardless of whether they finished the race or not. Such a large field of runners, one filledRace morning I got up at 5:30am, had some hotel coffee, ate a Clif bar, and left for the start around 6:25am. Good thing I left with plenty of time because it ended up being a lot farther walk.Also, the marathon shirt that I got with my packet pickup was too small. So, back to the expo I went on Saturday. I exchanged my shirt, and looked at all of the booth-shops that were there. OMFG they were expensive. No way was I going to buy new caprisSome 45000 runners from throughout the nation and world descended on the city's streets on a chilly Sunday for the 2012 Chicago Marathon.
